Jay McNeil is a writer, broadcaster, and story teller who is now telling his own story for the first time. He’s currently News Director with Newcap Radio in New Brunswick. You can currently hear him weekday mornings on The New Hot 92.3 in Fredericton where he also manages the news department for UP! 93.1 and ROCK 88.9 in Saint John.
A Cape Bretoner known for his years on The Early Show and Local Matters on 103.5 The Eagle in Sydney, he’s also the former owner and editor of The Glace Bay Gleaner, and host of InFocus, a popular weekly talk show on Eastlink Television.
After more than a decade in broadcasting Jay embarked on a public weight loss journey that saw him transform his life and lose more than 200 pounds. His first book, Lessons in Loss, chronicles that experience. It will be available in early 2014.
Jay has also directed and produced two documentaries for Say Something Webdocs. The Bipolar Code examined the impact a mental health diagnosis has on a growing family. In A Suitable Death Jay explored the life and death of a drug addicted son through the eyes of his mother.
Jay has several projects in the works, including a speaking tour through New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Ontario in the spring of 2014.
